The Gardoš Tower, built during the Austro-Hungarian Empire, is one of the most recognizable symbols of Zemun. From its top there is a wide view of the Danube, New Belgrade and the mouth of the Sava.
Climbing the tower provides an exciting feeling, and from the lookout point there is a spectacular view of Zemun, the Danube river and the city.
Within the tower, on the upper level, the lookout point allows you to use binoculars for sightseeing, and cultural and musical events are often held around the tower in the summer.
The departure for the visit can be from Zemunski Quay or from the old Gardoš settlement, where you will pass narrow streets and brick steps.
After climbing the tower, it is time for sightseeing viewpoint and enjoying the view, and can be combined with a walk around Gardoš and a visit to the surrounding cafes.
